Do I need to take the Maya Workshop before enrolling in the program?

The Maya Workshop is not required, but if you do not have any Autodesk Maya or 3D software experience we strongly recommend taking it before starting your first class.

We recommend that any student entering the main program have a basic familiarity with the Maya user interface, now to work with rigs, and how the graph editor works, along with basic knowledge of keyframes, modeling, and how to import and reference files.

Without this knowledge, learning the principles of animation becomes extremely difficult since a large portion of the time will be spent trying to learn and understand Maya rather than focusing on the animation principles necessary to succeed in the animation program.
