How do the Mentor Critiques work?

Mentor critiques, referred to as eCritiques, are given out every week after the assignment submission deadline (Sunday, 12pm noon PST), with the exception of weeks with no assignments such as AN01 Week 1 or at the end of term on Week 12.

Mentors typically record the eCritiques between Monday and Tuesday, although Sunday critiques are possible depending on the Mentor’s work schedules (this should not be expected or demanded of Mentors since Sunday is a weekend). Once your eCritique is recorded you will receive a notification with a link to view the eCritique on your Workspace.

eCritiques are viewable as often as you like throughout the term however it is recommended that you take notes from the eCritiques to make it easier to review your mentor’s suggestions rather than having to rewatch an eCritique repeatedly for each change. This is also good practice as critiques are rarely recorded in studio environments so note taking is a vital professional skill.

Important: Also note that all current term eCritiques will be removed at the start of the following term as the workspaces are reset. So if there are any specific notes from your mentor you would like to keep it is again recommended you write them down.
